This Privacy Policy applies to the seanodonnell.co.uk website and the Cullen iOS application ("the App"), both operated by Sean O'Donnell, based in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

1. Who we are
Sean O'Donnell is an individual software developer based in Glasgow, Scotland. Projects include this website, the Cullen iOS application, and various other software experiments listed at seanodonnell.co.uk/about.
2. Cullen iOS app — data practices
Cullen collects no personal data whatsoever.
- The app runs entirely on your device. No data is sent to any server.
- No account or sign-in is required or requested.
- No analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or advertising frameworks are included.
- No third-party services receive any information about your usage.
- Your photos and videos are accessed only to display them within the app. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared in any form.
- The app does not track you across other apps or websites.
Apple's own privacy controls govern what Cullen can access. You can review and revoke these at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos on your iPhone.
3. This website — data we collect
When you use this website, we may collect:
- Email address — if you subscribe to the newsletter or submit the contact form. Used only to send the newsletter or reply to your message. Never shared with third parties.
- Technical / usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, referral source. Collected via Google Analytics (if you consent) and server logs. Used only to understand site traffic.
- Payment data — if you make a donation or subscription via Stripe. Full card details are never seen or stored by this site. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment processing: stripe.com/gb/privacy.
4. Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
- Consent — newsletter subscriptions and analytics cookies.
- Legitimate interests — server logs and basic site security.
- Contract performance — processing payments for donations or subscriptions.
5. Cookies
This site uses cookies for session management and, with your consent, for analytics (Google Analytics). You can manage your preferences using the cookie consent tool shown when you first visit. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled.
6. Data retention
- Newsletter email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe.
- Email enquiries — retained for a reasonable follow-up period, then deleted.
- Server logs — retained for up to 90 days.
- Payment records — retained as required by applicable tax and accounting law.
7. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@seanodonnell.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
8. Third-party services
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe privacy policy.
- Google Analytics / Tag Manager — analytics (consent-gated). Google privacy policy.
Cullen uses no third-party services.
9. Data security
All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. Access to servers is restricted. No transmission method is 100% secure. In the event of a breach affecting your rights, you will be notified as required by law.
10. International transfers
Some processors (e.g. Stripe, Google) may process data outside the UK. Appropriate safeguards — UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses — are in place.
11. Children
This website and Cullen are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
